San Diego Electric Bike started as Home Business in 2008. Customers arrived by appointment to have their favorite bike Electrified.
I love electric bikes. Sincerely, Greg H
Feb 2016 Pat, I was very pleased with your presentation yesterday. You had everything organized, seemed to know which items worked best for my needs, kept choices clear and I believe we wound up with a perfect plan. Thanks for being so good at your job. I look forward to the process to come and being guided through the operation of my new “trusty steed.” Dee
Dec 2015 Pat- I wanted to thank you for all your help and getting me a battery. I love it! The young guy that helped us was so helpful, too!
Again, I am so grateful to you for all you’ve done. It was worth the wait. Have a very Merry Christmas and see you soon! Joy
1,000 miles later I took it in for a tune up and brake adjustment. Without an appt., he treated me like royalty and with time for a beer at nearby Pizza Port, again I was on my way good as new. Unfortunately, two days later I was hit by a car in Carlsbad. (no serious injuries, but the bike was unrideable). I called up in tears to ask if he was able to repair it the next day, and he said he would make sure that would happen. He didn’t have a motor assembly in stock, but took one off of a new one he had for sale. This store is usually very busy, especially in the summer and he dropped everything to help me out. The staff here is honest, courteous and knowledgeable. Whether you want information, repairs, a new purchase or rentals, I highly recommend San Diego Electric Bike Company.
E-Bike Enthusiast Comment by Cameron
I’ve been commuting to work on a regular, non-motorized e-bike for the last two years, and I can say with some authority that riding a non-motorized bicycle is only useful for short trips (under 5 miles, or ideally, under 2 miles). Ebikes are better for my commute (10 miles each way). I used to average 13-17mph on my road bike, and now I average 20mph+, shaving my commute time down from ~45 minutes to ~29 minutes, which gives me an additional 30+ minutes a day or sleep or leisure, and all the while maintaining the healthy cardio workout that I get when commuting to work. Ebikes are the future, but there are some who will be late to recognize it, and that’s okay.
Wanted to let you know how much I like the electric assist system that you installed on my “Ice Tryke”.
As you know I suffered a massive heart attack 2 years ago and lost 50% of my heartfunction. I was having a hard time keeping up with my group rides and they would always have to stop and wait until I was able to begin again.. NOW..With my power assist I am able to keep up and pass them if I choose :-)))))).
I now get MORE EXERCISE and am able to maintain a good pace and not wear myself out in the process.. I have been tracking my amp hour usage and I have been averaging about 6-7 miles per amp hour..
On our typical Mission Bay ride of 22 miles I can complete it using 2.2 amp hours!!!! I am so very happy
with your system and totally sold on the electric assist system on my Tryke!!!! I would be happy to share
my experience with any and all of your future customers..
Thanks again, Your LOYAL customer,
Just wanted to take a chance to say THANK YOU for the awesome deal on the e-bike! I am totally stoked, and it is the perfect bike for me. I have wanted one for a year or two, but never been able to afford it. I’m telling all my clients about this great bike I got, and sending them your way! Thanks also for installing all the accessories so quickly!
Another job WELL DONE !! My Ice “Sprint” is a bit lighter than my “Adventure” and since
I don’t pull the trailer it is MUCH EASIER to pedal and my mileage is better also..AND ….it will get up and go !! Thought I would never be able to ride after my heart attack but your system has allowed me to enjoy my rides , get great exercise and also keep up with my my riding group!!
Thanks again Pat!!
YOU ARE THE BEST !!!!
Hi , Just a note to let you know I’m approaching 1000 miles on the BMC V2T conversion. It is performing perfectly pulling the grades around Poway including Poway road and Scripps Poway Parkway. At 23 Cents per KWH (max residential charge SDGE), and 4$ gallon fuel I figure I’m getting about 800 MPG equivalent. So the last 1000 miles has cost me somewhere around $4.25 fuel equivalent. When the sun shines I rarely fire up the truck unless I need to pull the trailer or haul something heavy. I rode the mountains this fall on a camping trip and found the performance excellent on the trails. One question I have is maintenance. It seems like there should be some kind of lube of the motor or motor maintenance.
Thanks again for a quality job.
Patrick, Haven’t check in for for a while, thought I would let you know how it’s working out. Other than putting air in the tires and charge the battery it’s been problem free. With the help of my rear drive, to get up the hills my millage is over 40 miles per charge. Sometime it would be possible to stretch it out a bit more but it not fun to pedal a heavy bike up hill. Purchased some heavy duty tires and tubes after having a couple of flats. My old tires had side walls that were weak and the tubes were old, which was the real problem. Hope your doing well, and the new year is a great one for you and the business.

Hi Pat; Hope all is well with you,and that your electric bike business is flourishing. Overall,I think your website looks fine, but I don’t know what links you have to it. As far as testimonials go,I could not say enough-I was very impressed with the quality of your workmanship, the care and thoughtfulness that went into each bike, your integrity and fairness and your very competitive pricing, resulting in a high quality product at a very good price. I would recommend you to anyone interested in purchasing an electric bike.
“I bought my electric bike from Patrick and I ride it several times each week to work to avoid problems with parking. I am very please with my product and it exceeds my exp[expectations for reliability and performance. SDelectic bike and Patrick was patient and understanding with my techno phobe skills and he got me up and running in no time.
I am ridding green now!”
I took my electric bike in to sdelectric bike’s for a tune up. It runs better than when I bought it. The work Pat does is of high quality and timely. Riding an electric bike not only saves money on my gas bill, it allows me time to exercise that I never had before. Yes, even though the bike is electric, I am experiencing the benefit of exercise everyday I ride it.
One Happy Customer
Just wanted to thank you for the conversion kit installation and allowing me to watch, participate and learn. I have been having a blast with my bike.
Thanks Pat! Can’t wait to install on my commuter bike! I tired of LA traffic and $4/gal prices! Keep up the progressive business you do!
Don’t know if I’m getting the most out my bike but it has been a fun project. My old bike is out on the road again, having the wind in you face is a great feeling.
Did a bike ride today using the cruise control and really liked it.
It’s great just set the speed and shift gears to help the motor.
This afternoon after returning home from my ride I decided to charge the battery. Went 35 miles used 15 amps and had 50 volts remaining in the battery. Think my range would be much better with not having so many hills to climb. The Cycle Analyst at least gives me some idea of what is going on and how far I can travel. So next will be some adventures farther from home.
Thank you ,
I wanted to let you know how much I LOVE riding my trike! It is an absolute blast!! My ride into work is now 40 minutes and home is 50 minutes. What a difference for me! I am not home. The effort is what I wanted – gentle exercise instead of the exhausting ride it had turned into. I use the motor to get me up to a good speed then pedal as hard as I want to I wanted to let you know how much I

My ride into up with the motor when I start to get slower. work is now 40 minutes and home is 50 work is now 40 minutes and home is 50 minutes. What a difference for me! I am not minutes. I use the motor to get me up to a good speed then pedal as hard as I want to keep up at that speed, then boost my self back up with the motor when I start to get slower. This will be a great way for me to build up my strength and distance on pedaling without feeling like I am riding
myself to death.
Yesterday I rode up to a kid on his bike and he said “Cool bike” and asked where I got it. I told him. He said “How fast can you go?” I told him “As fast as I can pedal.” he bike and if I use it, I can go really fast.” He wanted me to use it and we raced along for a bit. I think I impressed him – or at least the motor did!
Thanks so much for your help and all the customization you did on the trike.
I took a Mountain Bike with Front and Rear Suspension and converted it to an Electric Bike by a local Orange County dealer. He did a good job on a tough conversion, but the bike just didn’t match my idea of comfort & efficiency. The biggest problem was my bike went around 30 miles per hour, but the gears weren’t made to pedal above 18MPH, So I was letting absolutely no workout.
Although San Diego Electric Bike was a two hour drive away, after talking to Pat, I felt that he was the man for the Job & take out the rough edges, and make my bike perfect. Pat impressed me with being very nice and helpful.
When I received my bike back and took a ride I was absolutely thrilled. Brakes worked Perfect, Gears shifted Perfect. He did a fantastic job & the difference was night and day. My bike was converted to a BMW or Mercedes, everything working together with precision!!! The ergonomics of the control layout is just so sweet. I can shift and accelerate at the same time.Same day service too!! Another dealer might have taken advantage of me and charged a lot more. I felt that he offered a great value and most important did a tremendous job!!
Kudos to San Diego Electric Bike and Pat for completing my
project. I have my dream bike now!!
This bike is the greatest. After what I consider long rides, it has never taken over 45 minutes to recharge. The instructions say it could take up to 6 hours to recharge. I go farther away each time and doubt that I could ride long enough to completely deplete the battery. 1–1.5 hours is my max. Just to let you know………….I am a happy customer.
